how to look put together with zero effort

Let me tell you a little secret – even if you wear an outfit that costs 50 bucks you can look like a million dollar meal.

“How?? Tell me nowww!!” – you may be asking..

Well, what makes a look is not the clothes themselves but how you wear them. If you’re with proper underwear, hairstyle for the occassion and even makeup.

Today, I’m going to share some tips with you on how to elevate your look without spending extra money or putting any effort in.

But before we get started I want to point out something:

The tricks here are not meant to offend or bash on anybody’s style. Fashion has no rules, this post is made simply for people who want to learn how to dress generally better, if wearing certain things makes you happy then nobody can take that from you!

The fundamentals of an outfit

If you are wearing tight pants or a shirt with interesting straps you always want to pick the right underwear so it doesn’t ruin the outfit.

When you’re wearing a nice nude top *like the bodysuit from Zara I’m wearing in the picture* which makes you look classy you don’t want your hot pink bra straps to be showing, right?

So what you do in a situation like this?

If a top is with thin straps you can wear a strapless bra so they don’t show.

If it’s very cut out from the sides you can invest into some fashion tape or nipple covers to keep everything secure.

These are all things you have to go and buy if you don’t have already but I have an interesting trick for you where you don’t need to buy anything extra.

You can simply work with your wardrobe! Isn’t that what we all love?

So in order to not wear a bra but still not show anything you don’t want to be seen – simply go and find a bikini top with padding (I’m sure you have one)

Next step would be to put the pads underneath the top and there you go, as simple as that.

If your top however is not really tight it’d suggest going with the fashion tape instead, it’s not that expensive and works wonders!

Having simple jewelry really compliments your outfit and your overall vibe and look.

I’m going to be brief here, if you want to know more on how to choose good essential pieces to start your jewelry collection you can see my blog post on it here.

Basically picking out dainty jewelry like earrings and a watch can really go far in terms of your outfit having more elements and making it look like you tried hard when you actually didn’t.

If you buy high quality jewelry you can even sleep and shower with it and not even remove it.

It’s always there, improving your look without you even noticing.

But stay away from poorly made jewelry because it can not only worsen your look but actually turn your skin green and we don’t want that…

In terms of your shoes and bags always make sure they’re clean and in good condition.

Crispy white sneakers look so good with everything!

Hair, Makeup and nails

This is something that’s more important even than the outfit itself.

If your hair is messy and dirty your outfit is doomed, no matter how nice it is.

Wearing a nice ponytail with a hairband that compliments your hair color or blends with it is always the way to go.

Makeup is also really important, if you are wearing it make sure it’s appropriate for where you’re going.

If something is smudged or you didn’t do your makeup right before going out just fix it if you can.

Learning how to do your makeup that takes time to master so nobody is going to judge you if you didn’t do something right the first time.

It’s a learning process, same with knowing how to do your hair.

Easiest thing for you is going on YouTube and seeing how the girls do it on there.

Watching “Do’s and Don’t’s” type of videos is really going to help you out.

For nails you can make sure your nailpolish is not chipped and go often to the nail salon to get refills.

If you’re on a budget and can’t do that, simply wearing nude polish all year round is going to be a gamechanger for you because you can’t really see if there’s some chipping on it.

No polish is also a good way to go, you just have to buy a nail file and make sure your hands are clean and even.

It’s also good for saving money because you don’t have to go to the salon every month.

Basic colors

Having a simple color pallette in your wardrobe really goes a long way.

Pieces are easy to put together and match. You don’t really have to worry about something not working out.

In the beginning I suggest you stick to this colors – black, white, nude colors and blue.

This is all you need in order to be put together.

Also, when you’re putting an outfit together consider the 3-Color-Rule.

This is a strategy where you don’t wear more than 3 colors at the same time in your outfit.

You can try it out and see how much polished you look without changing much about your wardrobe.

Now go and try everything for yourself.

I’m sure you’re not going to look yourself in the mirror the same!

See you on the next one, enjoy your new look 🙂
